Where to begin? I totally behind on blogging, but this wedding was privileged enough to cut in line.
There are so many things that make this wedding a once in a lifetime day, one that I will NEVER forget. Not only was I present when Megan + Fabian first met in Cartagena, Colombia, but I was apart of their story (I’ll never forget the Valentine’s Day morning a few years ago that I delivered flowers to Megan on Fabian’s behalf!). Not only did their wedding happen on the craziest snow day of the entire year (snow-pocalyse 2014), but every road in the entire city was shut down. Not only did these two have one of the loveliest weddings I’ve seen in a long time, but they planned the majority of their wedding from thousands of miles away. The list goes on.
There is something about this wedding that has renewed my love and passion for wedding photography all over again. The way these two love each other and the amazing amounts of compassion, care, and selflessness that pour out of each of them reminds me why I do what I do. I am one of the luckiest people – I get to capture pure, raw, passionate love by two people on the day they vow to be with one another for ever. I can never be thankful enough for that. One of the bridesmaids at the wedding said something to me that I’ll never forget. I had just snapped a photo of Megan getting ready and I looked down at my camera with a joyous heart. She looked over at me and said, “you truly love what you do, don’t you?” (thanks Cher!) Thats stuck with me ever since. I truly LOVE what I get to do. It brings me so much joy and I know that these photos are a true reflection of that.
I hope you enjoy this small little glimpse into their love filled day. (Sorry in advance for the photo overload. I just couldn’t choose my favorites so I included lots!)
Hair and Make-up by the lovely and talented Sarah Reese!
Isn’t the Sanctuary on Penn gorgeous?! It was a lovely venue and I would highly recommend it for any future brides out there. Make sure to check out their website here!
One of the most touching and emotional first looks EVER! Sometimes first looks can be better than seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle!
Lots of happy tears!
The most absolutely stunning backdrop I think I’ve ever photographed up against. And tell me this doesn’t look like it was straight out of a movie?!
An incredibly touching and emotional foot washing during the ceremony. It fit the couple perfectly. Bride + Grooms – do what is meaningful to you, its YOUR day!
They were all troopers! SO glad they were willing to freeze for a few minutes to grab some photos outside. How fun are they?
Does these look familiar? I may have also designed their wedding invitations! 🙂 More photos of them can be seen here!
Megan’s grandparent’s anniversary happened to be the same day as their wedding. They had a second cake made they were able to “cut the cake” as well. So perfect!
The perfect paper airplane send off to end the perfect day!
